International Tea Gathering

On the second Saturday, October , the Annual International Tea Gathering is held at the Chado Kaikan, Urasenke. A bowl of tea is made and served together with autumnal sweets by the Chanoyu trainees of Urasenke from many different countries. Later, the guests asks questions about the scroll, the incense burner, the flowers on the alcove or all the curious Chanoyu utensils, and each tea room is filled with sociable atmosphere. All the guests, including university students from different countries, leave for home with "Peace in a Bowl of Tea" in their hearts." Fall Exhibition" at the Chado Research Center on the Urasenke Complex is also fully enjoyed by the guests.
International Tea Gathering is co-sponsored by the Urasenke Foundation, Chado Urasenke Tankokai, KICA.
